Preparing for Youth Camp
The excitement is building already. Plans are being made for our 3rd year of youth camp. The young people of our churches are looking forward for the day youth camp begins.

These camps are a "pioneer" work for the Ukrainian youth. I spoke to Br. Valeriy Shevchuk our main pastor, and he said there had not been such a thing as a youth camp before. The only camp was when the Communist gathered the youth for what was called a "Pioneer" camp to train them about the communist doctrine. Now we are using these Pioneer Camps to train the youth to be followers of Jesus Christ. We are permitted to rent the former communist training camp for our Christian camps. Our camp this year will be West Central Ukraine near the city of Berdichev, and about 50 kilometers from the city of Zhitomir.
A new camp is being planned for this year. This idea was devised at last year’s camp as we saw the need for a greater outreach. First we are very happy to have Br. John Duncan returning to teach and preach in our camps. The youth were in unison wanting Br. John to be in the camps again this year. We will be having a special camp for the young unmarried ages 20-30. This camp will be a time of prayer, Bible study, fasting, and seeking Gods will. Many of these in this special camp will stay to be counselors for the other camps. The camps will begin July 1 and end Aug 1 a total of 4 camps.
Our camps this year:
Camp #1 - July 1-5 Advanced Camp (for
young adults)
Camp #2 – July 8-14 ages 19-25
Camp #3 – July 17-23, ages
15-18
Camp #4 – July 26-Aug 1, ages 10-14.
(There is also a possibility of
another camp being held about 12 hours drive from Zhitomir with over 200 youth.)
We will work in these camps as the Lord provides for us.
We must thank each one that gave for our Ukrainian youth last year. The Lord abundantly supplied our needs for each camp and camper. We have seen great enthusiasm and dedication in our young people.
