Harvesting the Youth
With our theme for this issue being "harvest time," a very
special time of the year is near. It is the time when young people from many
areas of Ukraine will gather for Youth Camp. On July 1st we will begin our Youth
Camp 2002. This will be our third year of camps. The Lord has blessed and
answered many prayers for the youth. There are many testimonies of a definite
work or call of God upon their life. The hunger for the Lord, and to be together
for fellowship with other Christian youth has become a priority for many. We
have seen the results among our own youth at the Zhitomir church.
The youth have expressed their desire for Br. John Duncan to return for the third time to teach and preach. Br. Duncan also made many friends with the orphan children. Here is part of a letter we received in our mission office in Kiev from one of the orphans. (written by Maksim Michalyov age 13 who was saved in last year’s camp)
"The vacation of our orphan school starts on May 31. We will work at the school until June 18. Then we will be sent with all the children to a summer camp. But you said that you can take us with you to your camp! We would be very glad for we wish to be with you if only for a short time. We want it very much….."
We will try to arrange for some of the orphans to join our youth in the camps this summer. We ask you to join us in prayer, that many lives will be touched by the Spirit of God.
