*This is responses from two young people that went to Ukraine to teach classes in the Youth Camp 2001.

What a blessing and wonderful privilege it was for me to attend Youth Camp in the Ukraine!  I was invited by Br. Gene and Br. Valeriy (pastor in Zhitomir) to attend this year's Youth Camp and teach one of the girl's classes.  To see the Spirit and power of God at work in the hungry hearts of these young people was a great experience.  I was humbled by the desire of these youth to see and learn God's will for their lives.  There were about 12 to 15 girls in my class.  They were attentive to the Word of God.  My interpreter, Dasha Tselovansky, was such a great help and so very friendly.  The young people made an extra effort to make us feel welcome.  Their sincerity was evident in their faces and actions.

The most wonderful part of this trip was hearing these young people pray. When we were asked to stand and pray during services, their prayers would reverberate through the building. Although there were only 165 campers, it sounded like 500 adults lifting their voices to God. The Spirit of the Lord was present in every class and service. We saw many weeping and praying through to salvation. Many young people were in the altars rededicating their lives to God and seeking His will.

I was touched, blessed and encouraged. My prayer is that the youth of the Ukraine will continue to follow the leading of God as He moves mightily in their land.

I recently had the opportunity to take a trip to the Ukraine, thanks to the Lord! Br. Thompson asked me earlier this year. We flew to the town of Kiev and from there we headed to the town of Zhitomir (about two hours from Kiev). I had the privilege of staying with the pastor of the church in Zhitomir, Br. Valarie. From the wonderful stay with Br. Valarie, I went straight to the Camp at Korostyshev.

The camp was a bit different from any camp I have been to in America, but it sure was fun! The campers had the nicest attitudes you could want. At the camp I realized how hungry the young people are for the Word of God and how appreciated they are for what God has done for them. I also met many new friends. My interpreter and best friend at the camp was a young man by the name of Ruslan.

God blessed me with the wonderful experience of seeing souls saved and lives changed at the camp. I realized how much God is really moving in Ukraine by seeing the great group of young people who through humility are sold out to do his will. Please pray for the people of Ukraine that God would continue to pour out the spirit of revival in their land, and that many souls would be added to his kingdom.

In Christ,

J.R. Newberry
