New Work In Savercy
To travel to Savercy is a real adventure. One must travel for miles over a cobblestone road from one direction. If you travel to Savercy from the north you must travel for miles on unpaved roads. On the cobblestone everything is settled in your stomach because it has had a real shaking. On the unpaved road you are constantly dodging holes. Our mission vehicle has to make this trip on Sunday.
Work has begun on a new church building in Savercy. They have already organized a Sunday school and needing room for all the children.
Br. Stocik Shevchuk is in charge of the work in Savercy and the Lord is blessing him to find favor with the village folk. He has workers from the church, and has hired some men from the village to help with the construction. He is very wise, he needed someone to cook meals for the workers (there's no restaurants in this village). He asked one lady to cook for the men and she said she did not have time. She needed some wood so Br. Stocik cut up a tree to provide wood for the lady’s household and she agreed to cook for the men. Br. Stosik is making friends with everyone in the village and the Lord is blessing his work.
The chief of the culture hall, and his wife have given their hearts to the Lord. This has opened doors for the church work in the village. The plans for a 24 x 45 building has been approved by the government office. The Lord has helped us find favor with these officials and the village people.
