Looking toward the North Pole with the Ural Mountains on the left, and the Bering Straits (Alaska) on the right you see the vast land of Siberia. This part of Russia is so large it covers 13 time zones. This land is some of the coldest on earth, and it also holds some of the greatest wealth on earth. Hundreds of gold mines fill the valleys. A large diamond field, coal mines, uranium, tin, silver, and other precious metals are found in the mountains. The entire land of Siberia is covered with snow capped mountains.
This North land with all its great wealth is a land of
poverty. The many thousands (12 million) that live in this vast land do
not know about salvation. To many of the 40 nations or tribes of North
People, the gospel has never been preached. With great wealth all around they
live in poverty of the heart. Many areas have never received the Word
written or spoken. Many of the tribes people turn to alcohol because they see no
future. The great need is for these forgotten people to hear about Jesus, and
learn of His salvation to the hopeless and the lost.
